Toys'War aims to highlight the disparities of current conflicts in the East through a medium that renders the whole experience paradoxical...

An arcade game, a symbol of play and entertainment, becomes a tool for reflection: two children face off, but one has only half the pieces while the other controls the rules of the game. The contrast between the childlike lightness of the outer appearance and the gravity of the theme amplifies the absurdity and cruelty of war, emphasizing the imbalance of power and the aggressor’s dominance.

The game was created for the exhibition Interferenze Elettriche, taking place from May 31 to June 15 2025, at the EgoZero exhibition space in Empoli (Italy). The current build corresponds to the one shown at the exhibition (so while imperfect, it is still considered final).

Toys'War vuole raccontare le disparità degli attuali conflitti in oriente utilizzando uno mezzo che rende il tutto paradossale...

Un arcade, simbolo di gioco e intrattenimento, diventa strumento di riflessione: due bambini si sfidano, ma uno ha metà delle pedine e l’altro controlla le regole del gioco.
Il contrasto tra la leggerezza infantile dell’estetica e la drammaticità del tema amplifica l’assurdità e la crudeltà della guerra, sottolineando lo squilibrio di forze e la prepotenza dell’aggressore.

Il gioco è stato realizzato per la mostra Interferenze Elettriche, in corso dal 31 Maggio al 15 Giugno 2025 presso lo spazio espositivo EgoZero a Empoli.
Lo stato attuale della build corrisponde a quello presentato in mostra (quindi, seppur imperfetto, è da considerarsi definitivo).
